The Township of Washington Police Department is issuing a serious warning regarding concerns that the TikTok “Door Kicking Challenge” may be making its way into our community. We are urging residents, parents, and guardians to be aware of this dangerous trend and to take it seriously.
These incidents are not harmless pranks. Aggressively banging on or kicking a residential door can cause property damage, create fear and panic among residents, and be perceived as an attempted home invasion. Such actions can escalate rapidly, placing both residents and those responsible at risk. Individuals engaging in this conduct may face criminal charges. There is zero tolerance.
Parents and guardians are strongly urged to speak with their children immediately and make it clear that this behavior is dangerous, unacceptable, and potentially criminal. The Washington Township police want to remind all residents to report all instances of this nature immediately by either calling 201-664-1140 or in an emergency situation, call 911.
