If you are requesting discovery you must contact our Record’s Clerk Lucille Bosco at 201-664-1140 ext 128.  Our records clerk is available from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday thru Friday (except holidays).

All requests for copies of Traffic Crash Reports can be handled by any Officer or Dispatcher 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The approved reports can be handed out in person.  Accident reports will not be faxed or mailed.  Please allow Officers five business days to complete these reports.

Any requests for other reports must go through the Township of Washington Office of the Clerk. The Township of Washington Police Department follows the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA).  OPRA is the State statute that replaces the old “Right to Know Law” which governs the public’s access to government records in New Jersey. Please fill out OPRA Request form by clicking here. After the form is completed it should be returned to the Town Clerk, located at the 2nd Floor of Town hall.
