The Township of Washington Police Department would like to ask our residents to take a minute and look at the front of your house to see if the numbers on your house are posted, and if so are they clear and visible from the street? Are they well lit up at night? Having house numbers that can be easily seen can make a difference when Police, Fire and EMS are responding to an emergency.
Please be sure the house numbers are not obstructed by bushes, trees or decorations. Use numbers that are approximately 4″ and that contrast with the background. If you have a long driveway or flag lot, please post the house numbers on both sides of the mailbox. This will ensure that emergency service personnel will be able to determine your house faster this way.
