It is with great sadness the Washington Township Police Department announces the passing of Retired Detective Heather Castronova. Det. Castronova passed suddenly in the overnight hours due to unknown medical circumstances. Det. Castronova served with the United States Marine Corps.,and following her service to the country she was hired as a Dispatcher for the Bergen County Police Department, and then as a Police Officer in Washington Township. She retired in 2020 from her career in Law Enforcement. Her roles in the Washington Police Department included Patrol, Detective Bureau and Community Policing. Her favorite role was working with children and the community of Washington Township.
