The Township of Washington Police Department would like to inform our residents that today January 25, 2024, at approximately 2:30 PM Patrol was dispatched to multiple residences on the east side of town due to residents finding “roofing style” nails, like the ones pictured below, in their driveways.
Today we were able to ascertain camera footage from a resident which shows the below pictured actor, who is our suspect. The footage shows a white actor wearing blue jeans, tan jacket, tan winter style hat and tan gloves walking southbound on Hickory Street approaching Ridgewood Road. When passing the pictured driveway, the actor is seen throwing “underhand” “roofing style” nails, with his left hand, into the driveway before the actor continues to walk southbound. The actor is last seen crossing Ridgewood Road and continued south on Hickory Street. As always, The Washington Township Police Department does not provide specific addresses when accompanying images were obtained from a private resident’s security system out of discretion and respect to the provider. We believe it is critical to provide our community with as much information as possible, and we must balance that responsibility while also respecting the privacy of the potential victim(s).
