Official Press Release 05/31/2024 – Residential Burglary

The Township of Washington Police Department is informing our residents that on May 31, 2024 between the hours of 07:00 AM and 11:19 PM today, a house on Pine Lake Drive was burglarized while the resident was not home.  Entry was gained through a rear door.  Proceeds are unknown at this time.  The incident is being investigated by the Township of Washington Police Department along with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

We want to remind residents that home burglaries can occur at any time, day or night.  Burglars are opportunists. Eliminate opportunities for them by locking all doors/windows/gates.  Secure your vehicles as burglars will attempt to gain entry, and steal them if they can.  Please make sure if you are not home, have lights on timers and deliveries stopped or redirected elsewhere.  The idea is to make it appear that someone is home, even when they aren’t.
