On Tuesday March 18, 2025, an individual came into Police headquarters to report a theft. According to the victim, a Honda emblem was taken off of the front of her vehicle while it was parked at The Chelsea, located at 620 Pascack Road in Washington Township. After Officers reviewed surveillance cameras from The Chelsea, they were able to ascertain that the theft took place at approximately 18:22 HRS on March 18, 2025 and that a United States Postal Service truck and/or employee may be involved. Upon further investigation, a United States Postal Service employee was interviewed, and later admitted to removing the Honda emblem from the vehicle by using a “flat key”. David K. Gordon was then placed under arrest and charged with 2C:20-3A (Theft by unlawful taking).
Township Police want to remind all residents to be vigilant, and make sure you parked in a well-lit area. As always, security cameras are a great idea and a great deterrent of these crimes. Do not forget to secure your vehicles as well, as there has been an increase is stolen vehicles throughout Bergen County. We like to keep our residents informed so we all stay diligent.
