The Washington Township Police Department successfully held its first class of Safety Township 2023! This program is modeled after “Safety Town”, which is a safety education program designed to teach areas of traffic safety and public safety to kindergarten aged children in a free community program. The Washington Township Police are working in conjunction with the Washington Township Library/Municipal Alliance. In the following weeks, the children will have visits from the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Washington Township Ambulance Corp. Today the children were able to check out our Patrol Vehicles as well learn about Stranger Danger – the difference between good strangers and bad strangers. They learned what to do when they call 911 and also about what information they should know at their age, like their address, parents phone number etc.

Special Thanks to the Township of Washington Municipal Alliance and Township of Washington Public Library Director Laura Rifkin who partner with the Washington Township Police Department for this program!  Cpl. Cangialosi hosted  Coffee with a Cop for all the parents that attended!  A special Thanks to PO Ferrazzano and PO Bobadilla that assisted today!
