The Department of Treasury has the Civic Operations Group, to promote the ANCHOR Tax Rebate Program whose extended deadline is at the end of this year. They will have canvassers walking door to door all over New Jersey Towns including Washington Township starting this week and walking until the week before Thanksgiving.
The canvassers will be explaining the program to the residents and will assist them in registering for the property tax rebate if they have not already done so. The canvassers will be wearing safety vests and ID badges for the program and will be walking in the afternoon to early evening. The vests will look like the below:
They may leave behind a door hanger as well if no one is home so that residents can sign up when they receive the reminder.
