On Friday, June 12, 2026, Chief Pecora, Captain Glock, Lieutenant Scherer and Sergeant Cangialosi participated in the annual Bergen County Chief For A Day program.
This year’s Chief, Chief Matra, a third grader, arrived to headquarters with his family. Once at headquarters he had breakfast with the day tour and was provided a tour of the department and the vehicles. He was then sworn in as Chief For A Day by the Town Clerk. Chief Matra was provided a police escort to his school where he was greeted by staff and students. Following that, Chief Matra was provided a police escort to Hackensack where many pictures were taken in front of the Court House, and he could see all sorts of emergency services vehicles and sports cars
