Safety Township – Washington Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps & Graduation!

The Washington Township Police Department successfully held its third and final class of Safety Township 2022! This program is modeled after “Safety Town”, which is a safety education program designed to teach areas of traffic safety and public safety to kindergarten aged children in a free community program. The Washington Township Police are working in conjunction with the Washington Township Library and the Washington Township Municipal Alliance.  This week the children had a visit from the Washington Township Ambulance Corp, as well as their graduation!

Today the children were able to learn about First Aid!  The Trainees had tours of both Washington Township Ambulances!  They were able to go inside, learn about all the equipment as well as ask questions about anything they saw!  The Trainees saw first hand how the Washington Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps handles calls!  They saw and were able to use lights and sirens (which is always a blast!), saw a stretcher come out of the ambulance, learn about safety equipment inside the ambulance and what they do when people are injured and/or sick.  The Washington Township Ambulance Corp demonstrated how to bandage certain injuries, go over First Aid tips and all the Trainees made their own first aid kit!!!

Special Thanks to the Washington Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the following attending members, especially Captain Trevor Landau who made this all possible.  Thank you to Lt. Larry Davino, President Eugene Greco, Naomi Theisz and Adio Mohan for taking your time to attend today to teach our Trainees all about First Aid.  The Washington Township Volunteer Ambulance Corp is an entirely Volunteer organization, just like the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department.  We are beyond grateful for the services of both of these Fine and Elite Organizations we are lucky to have in town!  Both the WTVAC and WTFD came to Safety Town to present!

Below are some pictures of todays visit!
